Our team at Costello & DeHart Dental Excellence consists of those who work in both the administrative and clinical sides of dentistry. Equipped with advanced training and specialized skills, we are a collaborative force that maintains a clear and dedicated focus on improving patients’ smiles. As you will learn in our bios below, each of us brings a unique element to our Arlington Heights dental team, ensuring your visit is nothing but the best.
Liz, Office Manager and Treatment & Financial Coordinator
Liz has had a well-established career in dentistry, beginning with chairside assisting while working on her teaching degree at NEIU in Chicago. Her career has evolved over 40 years. Liz is our Office Manager and Treatment & Financial Coordinator and has been with our dental office for over 20 years. She is easily recognized by her cheerful voice and pleasant smile. Most of our patients look to Liz to accommodate all their scheduling and treatment planning needs. She enjoys biking, traveling, reading, watching movies, visiting the botanical gardens, studying French, and taking online courses. She is fluent in Polish and hopes to travel there one day. Spending time with the loves of her life, Tyler and Jake, takes precedence overall.
Jessica, Insurance Coordinator
Jessica is a graduate of Concordia University, and she says that she’s thrilled to be surrounded by an amazing, friendly staff every day. As our Insurance Coordinator, she’s here to answer any questions you might have about your benefits, so you know exactly what is and isn’t covered. She likes to go hiking, and this has led her to visit over 30 different state and national parks over the years. Back at home, she likes to spend time with her two older brothers and dog named Pablo.
Caitlin, Front Desk Coordinator
Since joining our team in 2021, Caitlin has thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet all of our patients. Providing them with a warm welcome and building genuine relationships are two of her favorite aspects of her job. Outside of dentistry, her main passion is photography! In fact, she has been a photographer for more than five years now. One thing you may not know about her is that she is very good at drawing animals.
Terri, Front Desk Coordinator
Originally from Westchester, Terri has been in the dental arena for over 40 years! After completing the dental assistant program at Loyola, she worked in the position for 25 years, 15 of which were spent alongside Dr. Trumfio. She loves forming long-lasting relationships with patients and being an integral part of the dental office team. Her passion for helping others always shines through. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at various local ministries, lounging with her expanding family at their Wisconsin lake house, boating, and gardening.
Jackie, Front Office
Jackie has been working in the dental field for over four decades, with a constant drive to help patients get the care they deserve. She started her career while she was in high school just helping out around the practice she worked for. Through hard work and patience, she was able to work her way up to becoming a full-time dental assistant. She isn’t averse to any tasks, as she enjoys dipping her hands in any area where she could be of assistance. Her favorite thing about her job is working with wonderful people and providing amazing care for others.
When she isn’t at work, she loves spending quality time with her husband, her two children, and their dog, Kobe. She also enjoys being outdoors with her nieces and nephews, playing games, relaxing while watching her favorite movies, and going for good walks. Of course, Kobe is always ready to join her!
Anne Marie, Dental Hygienist
Anne Marie began her affiliation with our practice as a high school sophomore working part-time as a dental assistant. Her interest in dentistry led her to dental hygiene school where she completed all coursework at Harper College and now presents to our patients the experience of a 30-year career in dental hygiene. She is the Director of Hygiene Care and Periodontal Instruction in our dental office. She is certified in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation. In this capacity, she is better equipped as a dental hygienist to provide professional services for even the most sensitive patient procedures. Anne Marie is a certified auxiliary in the Invisalign tooth alignment system. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys spending most of her time with her two-year-old daughter, Avery, the light of her life!
Mary, Dental Hygienist
Mary has been a dental hygienist for 30 years and still loves what she does on a daily basis. She states, “It is so very rewarding helping patients and getting them motivated to care for their mouths, which then improves their general health.” Mary has also been certified through the Scheduling Institute in extraordinary telephone customer service. Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, she graduated from the University of Nebraska where “Yes, they really do know and love football!” She has been married for 15 years to her husband and best friend, Larry. They have two daughters. Emily is a senior at the University of Nebraska and Katie is a sophomore at the University of Nebraska. Mary loves to read and travel.
Carla, Dental Hygienist
Carla is a dental hygienist and has been providing hygiene services for Costello & DeHart Dental Excellence for almost 10 years. She first came to our dental office as a patient. She has over 20 years of dental hygiene experience, with a strong background in periodontics and implant dentistry. Carla is certified in local anesthesia as well as nitrous oxide sedation, making her a very knowledgeable asset to our team. Most recently, Carla was certified through the Scheduling Institute in extraordinary telephone customer service. Her pleasant nature and extreme competence have been a wonderful enhancement to our full-time staff. She lives in Arlington Heights with her husband and three children. She enjoys spending her time with family and friends.
Laura, Dental Hygienist
Laura is a dental hygienist who began her dental career with us as an assistant back in 2006. Her enthusiasm and love of her work got Laura interested in learning more about the dental field. After a few years of dental assisting, she went on to get her degree in dental hygiene and graduated from Harper College in 2010. With her gentle touch and calm chairside manner, Laura provides exceptional care while making patients feel as comfortable as possible. She is certified in both local anesthesia and most recently, through the Scheduling Institute in extraordinary telephone customer service. In her free time, she likes spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Jenna. Laura is a huge Chicago Blackhawks and San Francisco Giants fan.
Marisol, Dental Hygienist
Originally from Mundelein, IL, Marisol studied at the College of Lake County to earn her license in dental hygiene as well as her Associate in Science degree. She’s also received extensive training and certifications in topics like local anesthetic and nitrous oxide administration. Her favorite thing about her work is educating her patients about their smiles and the significance it has on their overall well-being.
At home, Marisol is a pet parent to a pit bull terrier named Luna. In her free time, she enjoys taking Luna on walks, trying out new foods and restaurants, occasionally binge-watching Netflix series, playing card games or video games during winter, and going to concerts or to the beach in the summer. One interesting fact about her: she used to play the trombone when she was younger.
Margaret, Dental Assistant
Margaret is one of our full-time dental assistants and has been affiliated with our practice for over 18 years, serving as a chairside assistant. She is proficient in all phases of general and cosmetic dental assisting and also serves as the person responsible for the beautiful enhancements that result from her assistance in tooth whitening and shade selection. She has completed coursework to enable her to perform tooth polishing and sealants as a hygiene assistant and has been certified through the Scheduling Institute in extraordinary telephone customer service. Margaret is also bilingual, speaking fluent Polish, and brings her pleasantness to the workplace from Lake Villa, Illinois. Margaret is married to Peter and has twin daughters, Michelle and Paulina, who are in college. Her family plays a large role in her life. Margaret enjoys going on vacations with her family, especially to warm, sunny places like Florida. In her free time, Margaret likes going to the health club to enjoy some Zumba and taking walks with her husband.
Maddie, Dental Assistant
As a dental assistant, Maddie has worked with our team for over five years now. That experience has made her an invaluable part of the practice. She especially loves transforming patients’ smiles, thus restoring their confidence.
Outside the office, Maddie enjoys travel and exploration. In particular, she likes snowmobiling in the winter and boating on Lake Michigan in the summer. Not alone, though – she’ll often bring her boyfriend, family, and friends!
Stephanie, Dental Assistant
For more than a decade now, Stephanie has spent her days making patients feel good about their smiles again. In fact, that’s her favorite part of her job! She attended dental school in Arlington Heights, which is where she underwent training in IV sedation/nitrous oxide monitoring, coronal polishing/sealants, and CPR/BLS. Congratulations are in order since she and her boyfriend recently became homeowners! In her free time, she loves to hang out with her dogs, travel all around the world, do crafts, and cheer on the Cubs and Blackhawks.
Nicolette, Dental Assistant
A native of Norridge, IL, Nicolette has several years of experience as a dental assistant and loves every part of it. The best parts of her day are when she gets to help put a smile on people’s faces. She studied at Triton College and later gained real-world experience when she became a dental assistant during COVID. Away from the office, Nicolette spends time with her two fur babies, Tink and Azi. She also hangs out with her small but close-knit family whenever she wants to relax. Her hobbies typically involve lifting weights at the gym, going outside as much as possible during summers, and listening to 80s rock. One fun fact about her is that she can speak Italian—not perfectly, but well enough!
